About Art:
Illustrations which are inspired by paper cutouts, Japanese Ukiyo-e (17th- 20th centuries), and comics. It's combination of ink drawing and graphic painting using Photoshop.

About Artist:
I am Japanese Artist & small business owner in USA.
My name is Sayuri Kobayashi Kelch, aka "Saju", and along with artwork I also do Arts and Crafts. "Saju" is a nickname that I was given during my school years in Japan. I married an American in 2004, and we used to live in California, but then moved to Florida, and now we live in Washington State.

I was born in Akita, Japan, and grew up both there and in Tokyo. After graduating high school, I came to the U.S. where I met my now husband, while attending Butte College in northern California. I finished my degree there before returning to Tokyo, to work in the Magazine and Art Print/Frame industry. I continued to work in this field for approximately 2 years before returning to the U.S. to get married. Being away from Japan, has given me the ability to see the great parts of our traditional culture that I was unable to see before, and this realization has certainly affected my artwork.
